Photo 1: For days I had not seen a St. James waymarker like this one. It would also be the last one. Soon I will come to the point where the official St. James path heads more north towards the German city Regensburg, and I will go more direct south towards Landshut and where I live.

Photo 2: Everyone needs a savior. At the latest at the point of death we need someone who is stronger than death to bring us into the life herafter. Jesus' grave is empty. Because that is so, our graves will one day be empty as well if we put our trust in him.

Photo 3: I had a good lunch today, and right before it rained. When I finished lunch, the rain stopped. I was so happy...

Photo 4: Countryside in Czech

Photo 5: Today was a long hike with almost 37 km and 650 altimeters. I was glad to arrive at the hotel in Rožmitál near this church. Unfortunately there was no restaurant at the hotel for dinner, but the receptionist recommended one that was nearby. However...

Because I did not understand Czech, I unfortunately walked through the wrong door to enter the restaurant. I explained to the waiter that I speak English and did not understand what was written on the door. The waiter said that this is the Czech Republic and they speak Czech and not English. He then pointed to the door for me to leave. I did. It was the first time ever that I was kicked out of a restaurant, another new life experience on the Snail-Trail! The unfortunate thing was that this was the only restaurant in town that still was open after 8.00 pm. I went back to the hotel and finished off my last portion of müsli that I still had in my backpack and ate it with a jogurt and powdered milk. I was still feeling somewhat stuffed from the pizza and salad that I had at lunch anyway.

I thought about how Jesus and his diciples were once passing through Samaria. They wanted to stay the night at one place, but the locals told them to keep moving on. James and John showed their human emotion and asked Jesus whether they should call fire down from heaven, so that the locals would show them some respect. Jesus rebuked them and said that this is not acting in the spirit of God's love. I must admit that my human emtion reacted as well. No, I did not ask for fire to fall from heaven, but I did ask Googles to give them a one star rating for "service".
