Photo 1: The castle from Golub Dobrzyn...

I thought I was going to die. At the campground yesterday evening I wanted to put a 5 zaloty coin in the metal box that turns on the hot water for a few minutes to take a warm shower. As soon as the coin touched the box, an electric current went through the coin and up my arm. I screamed and shouted the first cuss word I ever learned as a kid. I think the jolt scared me more than it could have harmed me. Nevertheless, I thanked God that I was still alive and well.

Photo 2: Today would be my last planned 40+ km hike and the longest of Snail-Trail 3.0... 43.12 km. I knew I would need calories and liquid. Near noon I came to a point in the hike where three paths came together. I stood there and studied my hiking app to make sure I took the right direction. A lady called out from this porch and confirmed the way to go for the Camino Polska. She then asked if I wanted some water. I accepted. While I drank the water, she asked me if I would like a soup. Again I accepted. I am not sure what kind it was, but it had a pink color, noodles and vegetables and was good. Before I knew it, two tasty meet balls with cheese in the middle, home grown cucumbers and home made bread were put on the table. I had a nice shady place to recharge my walking batteries.

Photo 3: I cannot remember the lady's name other than it started with the letter "M". It did have food and water resources with me, but could now use them later in the day. What blessed me so much was the joy she had in giving me something to eat and drink. At the beginning of my first Camino to Spain two years ago, an experienced pilgrim said to me that if someone offers you something, if at all possible, accept it. It may be more important for them to give than it is for you to receive. In this case, I was very happy to receive. I said a prayer of blessing for her and her family before I moved on.

Photo 4: Every once in awhile a bike rider will pass me, but I see no other hikers.

Photo 5: Now early evening, it was very nice to walk through this forest just before Toruń. I then passed through a very large residential area with one appartement block after the other. I prayed for the people who lived there that they may the God connection through Jesus. I was very happy to hear from my hosts where I would stay the night that their church "Freedom Church" is located in the middle of that area.

Milestones: 1500 kilometers / halfway through Poland
