Photo 2: Lefty was the person who ran the campground. His name was inspired by a USA movie character with the name Lefty. He believed in some sort of spirituality, but just was not so sure about God. I had several God-talks with him and his girl friend and prayed for both of them. They were both very kind to me. For one, Lefty allowed me to pitch my tent under these large pine trees where it was more dry and sheltered from the weather, even though this section of the campground was not designated for backpackers or cyclists. (It helped that it was no longer high season.) Lefty also made me hot water for my tea each morning and cooked me hard boiled eggs for my breakfast. Lefty said he never had contact with a pastor or priest before. I am glad that that first contact was a good one...

Photo 3: I met Tim and Nina from Holland at the campground this morning.Both love Jesus and have a call on their life.Tim is studying theology and Nina will soon be traveling to South Africa with Youth with a Mission for a ministry outreach to needy children. For over two hours this morning I shared with them from my pilgrim paths, life and ministry expierences, and encouraged them for their continued walk with Jesus. It was a God-Appointment and worth every step it took to get to the Living Water Campground. Speaking of living water, one of the things we talked about was that river of life in the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised those who would believe in him. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning on a campgroung on the border from Belgium to Luxemburg.

The flag of Belgium features three vertical stripes of black, yellow, and red, which are derived from the historic coat of arms of the Duchy of Brabant. A common folk interpretation views black as sacrifice, yellow as wealth, and red as the blood shed for independence.
