Photo 1: Walking the Wales Coastal Path
Photo 2: Yestetday evening I got into the town of Tandy much later than I had wanted. I still had about two or three kilometers to walk up a steep hill to the campground where I planned to stay. I needed though to first get food supplies for the night and next morning. At the store an older couple saw me with my big backpack in the grocery cart and asked me how I was doing. I said I will be doing real good once I make it up the hill to the camping place, take a shower and have something to eat. Their names are Chris and Kate. They said they have a house with a garden near the town and asked whether I would like to put my tent up there. I would not need to carry my backpack with all the groceries up the hill and Chris would be willing to take me to my starting point the next day. How could I refuse an offer like that? We had a wonderful evening together. I shared many stories from the pilgrim path and about God's faithfulness... and I slept well in their garden. This morning Chris took me to my starting place on the Wales Coastal Path. I prayed for him, Kate and their family before I got out of the car. They would actually like to open their garden to hikers like me and cyclists who need a place to stay for a night. I told them about the internet plattform campspace.com... might be an option for them. They had just had their first experience with me.
Photo 3: A series of short tunnels dotted this part of the coast that were once used to transport coal.
Photo 4: Two seagulls fighting over a piece of bread...
Photo 5: One last look at the beach. I would need to go inland to cross over bridges from waterways leading to the sea. The next four days I would mostly be walking on roads going up and down one hill after the other.
