Photo 1: I smiled when I saw this warning on the sidewalk this morning as I was leaving Günzburg. English translation: "Caution! Slow Seniors". Yes, I do walk a bit slower when I am carrying a heavy backpack. It is God's amazing and enabling grace that I can do so, almost all the way from Scotland to my home near Munich.

Photo 2: A very interesting flower pot! Things like this also bring a smile as you make you way through a long stretch. Today it would be 36 km...

Photo 3: Bavarian "onions" - It always feels like home when I have been away for a while and then see the onion domed churches in Bavaria.

Photo 4: "Spectators"

The last days on the Snail-Trails are often moments of reflextion on my life's journey, not just the pilgrim way that I had just gone, but also the steps, stations, situations and people that have been part of my life trail. When I saw this puppet group of spectators on the side of the road, it made me think of Hebrews 12:1...

"Therefore, since we are surrounded be such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

I thought about those who have infuenced my life, many of whom have gone before me, who have already finished their life's pilgrimage. I wondered if perhaps that might know of my walk and be rooting me on like spectators in a stadium. I am so grateful for these moral and spiritual shoulders that now carry me... one step at a time in my race, in my pilgrimage.

Photo 5: "A bavarian village"

I walked though a past a number of villages today. My destination was one between Günzburg and Augsburg. Through the network of God's people... I contacted a pastor who knew a person who knew a person that lived exactly in the small town where I needed to find a sleeping place for the night... I stayed with a wonderful Christian family that has five delightful children. Sometimes a God-appointment connects me with people searching for answers to life's questions. Sometimes, though, it will be a God moment where the Holy Spirit will have me speak words of encouragement or insight that will help one or more of God's children in particular situation that they might be going through. This was case here. In the evening, after the children were all in bed, I shared insights and truths from the pilgrim path that gave hope, encouragement and orientation in a crisis situation. "Thank you for your words..." that was said to me when I left the next morning. God knows. He cares. He is there.
